This teriyaki sauce is the perfect blend of flavors you won’t even realize it’s not chalk full of the typical allergens included from the allium family as well as sesame.
Simple, Easy, and No Fuss Homemade Teriyaki Sauce
So simple and can be whipped up in a handful of minutes to use in other recipes, on the grill or in the oven! My kids love it so much on grilled chicken, but also drizzle it over jasmine rice. It’s pretty delicious!

Garlic Free Homemade Teriyaki Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 C water
- 1 C packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 C low sodium soy sauce may sub coconut aminos
- 2 T honey
- 2 T cornstarch
- 1/4 C water
Instructions

Combine 1 cup water, brown sugar, soy sauce and honey in a medium sized pot, bringing to a light boil over medium high heat, stirring frequently.
Whisk together the cornstarch in 1/4 cup water, and stir that into the boiling brown sugar mixture.
Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until coats the back of a spoon.
Use as desired for grilled, cooked or baked teriyaki chicken, as well as over jasmine or other favorite rice.
