Chocolate Covered Pretzels

I will eat chocolate on pretty much anything! Ha!! My favorite things to have chocolate on are strawberries, pretzels and marshmallows! What I really love about chocolate covered pretzels is that they are salty sweet. I love salty sweet SO much!

There are some techniques and tricks to make sure they come out just perfect though!

1- When tossing the pretzels and transferring them to the wax paper, I like to use a toothpick, but you could also use a fork.

2- When you put them to “set” in the fridge, only leave them in just long enough to set and no more, typically takes about 10-15 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 10 oz bag of allergy friendly chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp grapeseed oil, other oil, or shortening
  • 1 bag of allergy friendly pretzels twists

Instructions

  1. Get about 4 cups of full pretzel twists that are not broken and set aside.  Using a double boiler or microwave on :30 increments, stirring each time in-between, melt your chocolate with the oil. Next, dip your pretzels one by one, and set them on a wax paper covered cookie sheet. I like to use a toothpick or fork to help me flip and lift them to the tray. You can also use a spatula, to gently drag the pretzel across before laying on the wax paper covered cookie sheet, to remove excess chocolate. Let set in fridge for about 10-15 minutes and remove as soon as the chocolate is set up. You can serve them on a tray, in portions divided and placed in muffin baking papers, or even in cellophane bags and tied with a ribbon!
