Who doesn’t love hot cocoa?! Especially during the holidays and when it’s rainy, snowing or just cold outside.
This is so simple but amazingly yummy! It’s seriously a treat within a treat!

The Best Hot Cocoa
You can use any hot cocoa mix that’s friendly for you (I’ve got a simple yummy recipe below), but I like to keep things simple. There are a ton of fancy recipes out there and they are all great. Alternately, if you know of a safe store bought mix, this trick will work with those as well!
You can also just use water, Hershey’s naturally unsweetened cocoa powder (same you use to bake with), sugar, salt and dairy substitute such as almond, rice or soy milk. That’s my recipe ingredients and if you go with the “rich” version it tastes similar to Starbucks! Yes! You can also make it more mild for children with half the amount of cocoa powder.
Now for the secret ingredient, regardless of what hot cocoa you are using, just add your favorite allergy friendly coffee creamer, such as Coconut Cloud Salted Caramel! It’s DELICIOUS! Stir it in and enjoy. You’re welcome. It’s amazing. I know!!!! My fav is salted caramel!
Hot Cocoa Mix Recipe
I have a recipe below in case you need it. We only have gluten and peanut allergy in our home, so we use store bought packets most of the time.

The Best Hot Cocoa and Cocoa Powder Recipe
Ingredients
One Cup Serving
- 2 T sugar
- 1-2 T Hershey’s unsweetened cocoa powder
- dash of salt
- 1 cup hot water or dairy alternative/milk of choice
4 Cup Serving
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4-1/2 cup Hershey’s unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 4 cups hot water or dairy alternative/milk of choice
Instructions
-
Mix the dry ingredients together and stir them into hot water, or your favorite allergy friendly milk/milk alternative. To make “the best” hot cocoa, add in your favorite flavor of coffee creamer! It’s THE best!
For a milder chocolate taste (for children) use the 1T or 1/4cup cocoa. For a richer chocolate taste, use the 2T or 1/2cup.

This sounds amazing 😍😍
It’s my favorite thing to do – add flavored creamer to hot cocoa – so good!
