I’m not even going to call this a real “recipe”, but more of an idea! I grew up with my grandmother making hot oatmeal for us nearly every morning, even in the summer. She loved to serve us oatmeal. We would always pile on brown sugar, and pour milk over it. The milk helped thin the consistency, and also cool down the steaming hot bowl of cereal, while the sugar was the perfect blend of sweetness to the oats. I recently tried the new dairy alternative from Silk, Oat Yeah. It is an oatmilk that is dairy free and vegan! It is delicious. There are many great alternatives out there, what I liked about this one is that because it’s an oatmilk, the consistency was a bit thicker and closer to a true “cow’s milk”. Loved it!
