Disney Food & Food Allergies
We have been going to Disneyland as a family since my oldest was a baby. Almost 15 years later and we have learned quite a bit about the ingredients of Disney food.

What Allergies We Have and Avoid at Disneyland Resort and Disneyland California Adventure
My oldest is the only of 5 children with food allergies, allergic to peanut and shellfish since he was just a baby. Recently at the age of 14, after living his whole life with just a couple anaphylactic food allergies, he gained 7 new ones. He is now anaphylactic to the following: peanut, pecan, walnut, shellfish, oat, garlic, sweet potato, watermelon and pear. He is most severely allergic to peanut and garlic, and surprisingly to many – garlic is his worst and most severe, even more so than peanut.
Disneyland and Food Allergies
Disney is AMAZING with food allergies. At sit down restaurants, simply notify them of your allergies and typically a chef will come out to visit your table and ensure they find something safe to create for you.
At food stands across the parks, it is best to grab a bite to eat when lines are not long so that you have time to ask the attendant if you can see the ingredient label, such as with the churro stands, or the ingredient list such as with the Jack-Jack Num Num Cookies.
When in Doubt, Throw it Out
I have told my son repeatedly throughout the years, even one bite is never worth it. If there is any uncertainty to the ingredients or manufacturing process or facility, don’t buy it, or eat it. Not even one bite.

You will find Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums at Disneyland California Adventure near the Incredicoaster entrance and exit. It’s a little food cart with an oven to heat up the chocolate chip cookies, fresh from the oven for your dining pleasure. A butter sugar cookie with a character edible art topping, and a shortbread jam-filled gluten-friendly cookie option.

The Chocolate Chip cookie is my favorite. Especially because they run it through the oven prior to serving, so that it’s just like it came fresh from the oven at home!

Which One Was Safe for My Son?
All of them! How exciting is that especially when he is anaphylactic to 9 foods?!? Given the opportunity to have free choice of any of these 3 he and all his siblings tried the chocolate chip cookie, and LOVED it! It is DELICIOUS! I could have honestly gone back and bought seconds for each of us and just skipped our next meal. They were that good!
On another visit I personally tried the shortbread that’s jam filled, and it was yummy!
They also serve cartons of both milk, and chocolate milk at this cart. Milk and cookies, yum! And allergy friendly to boot!
